it sure does'nt seem that there are any ford people out there. I have never re-built a truck or any auto for that matter, this prodject is very important to me. to give a nice re-built truck to a 16 year old girl is a special thing. getting frustrated as to not knowing what direction to start in. what kind of after market parts to use, what kind of engine mods to do can all be very overwhelming. just need some helpful hints. are there any out there?

I'm new to working on trucks and Fords as well, so I'm in the same boat. I am a GM and front wheel drive cars guy. Granted, I am a 22 year old that just bought one for mudding, but still. First off I guess, what did you get and what shape is it in?

Sorry, just found your previous post. I honestly know nothing about pre mid 80's trucks.
What condition is the thing in? Need body panels, running?

well the truck is in fairly good shape,no real big dents but it does have a few rust through spots. it is a crayon blue with two black stripes down the sides.one on the front quarter panel & one right behind the drivers side door.the motor is a 352. very strong.damb thing runs like a champ.I have had it for about three years, this truck has only left me stranded 1 time. had a carb problem, damb thing caught on fire .warped the plate on the carb.the problem was i could only find 2 replacement carbs in the whole united states.needed a 2 barrel with a manuel choke, talk about hard to find, did find one though. 354.00$ later. was getting 15-17mpg now 6-7mpg.holly carbs are crap but it was all that i could find.
Any how I told my daughter that i would fix it up for her 16th birthday.I really want to restore it to a show truck quality for her. she wants it to be a light pink with dark pink flames, sounds a little differant but what the heck. oh by the way it is a 1967 f-100 2wd. well i just was'nt sure where to start.I am starting to worry about how much this truck is going to cost :2cents: I have never had to do body work but it can't be all that hard or at least that is what i am telling myself.we'll see. one thing that i really want to replace is the stipid bumpers, they are about the most stupid bumpers that ford ever came out with.
well i fill in more of the blanks later.respond when you can.later badboyz

As far as body work is concerned, I would look here: http://www.lmctruck.com/ for parts. I am sure some of the guys on here have placed to find stuff too, but this is the one I ended up using for my S10 and am probably going to use for my F150 since it has a spot or 2 that is rusted through as well as missing parts. Get the free catalog ordered, which will have a pretty good free parts breakdown inside with prices and lots of pictures on what goes where. As far as the one behind the cab, you are probably going to end up needing to weld that one somehow since the cabs tend to be one peice that is obvioulsy much harder to replace than a fender. The bumpers will be listed in here as well.

hey thanks i will try that one and see what they have to offer. i pretty much figured that i would have to weld a piece of metal to that one. is your f-150 a 2wd or a 4wd? well got to check some other webs. talk at ya later, thanks badboyz.

Before you try LMC truck try autopartswarehouse.com their parts are 10x's cheaper and don't charge for shipping and handling on most parts. I got burned on parts from LMC before I found autopartswarehouse.com

Yeah, that is another good one. I think I used the LMC more for a parts breakdown for the vehicle, then go from there on parts.
