i had these customers whose truck we painted. There were a few flaws and imperfections in the paint, no big deal. easy fixes, I didn't even see them. When they got there, they obviously had no intention of paying whatsoever. Then they tried to take the truck and I wouldn't let them. They still owed a thousand dollars on it and I'd heard that they were ten grand in the hole. They were completely unapproachable and wouldn't listen to a word I said. I told them they wouldn't get the truck until my bill was paid for and then they could have it back. They started getting irate and saying that was illegal and to call the cops. I did. cops get there and for god knows what reason take MY license, and nobody elses, even though I called, and, completely unbenounced to me, I had a warrant out for my arrest that I was never made aware of. A warrant for Fraud. (?!) So nobody would tell me anything about this. Nobody KNEW anything about this, and it was for a county at the top of the state that I'd never even BEEN to. Then I find out my bond is TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! (Here, let me pull twelve grand out my asshole real quick.) Still don't know what's going on. Finally I get my business partner to get ahold of the sherrifs office where the warrant was issued and it turns out it's just a bad check that I thought went through. THAT'S FUCKING IT!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!! And apparently a bounced check over $250 is a FUCKING FELONY!!! A GOD DAMNED FELONY FOR A BOUNCED CHECK!!! What in the FUCK!?
So I spent most of last night in jail. Part of that in the paperthin walls of a 5x5 (YES 5x5 feet, not even enough to really sit down in) holding cell next to some cracked out girl that, for two hours, wouldn't stop bawling. And I mean LOUD.
Hehe you should have seen my phone call. I call Josh, whose already at the police station ready to bail me out with a few bucks. Yay.
Josh: "i got a few bucks here, how much is bail?"
Me: "twelve grand."
Josh: ".......I don't have that much."

Your business partner needs his license so he can pick you up tomorrow morning.

The place I work at recently sent a car to be auctioned off, because some people got $25,000 of work done to it (who ever buys this car will enjoy their rebuilt engine which basically only has the block as the original part, everything else is new, all suspension bushes, springs and shocks replaced, a fair bit of interior work, body work, Brake disks, pads and calipers replaced...ect). We held the car for about 2 years (which is a lot longer than we legally had to) hoping they would pay us back. Whats that, you can't? O.k, see ya VS HSV Clubsport.
I hate people who get work done to their car without having the money for it.

That kind of thing scares me. I don't see how it could be fraud unless you wrote your name on someones check and then tried to cash it..?? Last time I checked,(pun intended) having a check bounce isn't a fraud. Someone screwed up and whoever it is needs to be slapped upside their head for messing up peoples lives.

It is illegal to bounce a check. I have never heard of this kind of penalty for a first offense. It was your first right.

Yes it was my first offense. At least to my knowledge. See, I had no idea I had even bounced the check, nor did I know I had a warrant out. Nobody called me, nobody notified me of fucking anything. That's not to say they didn't send me a letter. That could have happened. But I didn't get it.
My girlfriend bailed me out. I didn't even know the check was bad. I thought it had cleared. I figured someone would at least have the decency to call and say something to me. Now I have to hire a criminal lawyer, which will cost me a few thousand.
I had to report the truck stolen today, because legally, they had no right to take the car. I have a feeling they think that they can just screw me around because they percieve me as young, which they made readily clear. We'll see where it goes from there.
...And nobody can still tell me WHY CANT I JSUT PAY THE GOD DAMNED CHECK?! I mean JESUS!!! If I'd have known there was a problem, I would have just gone and given them cash for the amount. Instead, nobody said anything to me and I get screwed.

The reason why you cant pay the same amount that you bounced the check on is mainly they want to ''teach you a lesson" sort to speak, so they give you a huge fine.. its much like if you steal something, they dont ask you to pay for it, they charge alot of money instead to make you not do it again.
About the no notification thing, maybe mail got messed up? Because I know that if you got a warrant for your arrest you get notified by mail and its always best to show your ass in court.

Man, I don't even need to bother with trying to scalp your "A". You've done plenty enough screwing yourself over these past few weeks.
Only kidding with you. Man, you just don't have the slightest bit of luck as of currently. Hope shiz works out. Which I doubt will be in any benefit for you. But, you never know...right?

I would think that if a warrant got issued then the cops would come looking for you. Or you would have been "served" with a court order or notice to appear in court.
I have been "served" several times for being behind in making loan payments, unpaid fines, etc. The person serving the papers HAS to physically give them you. All the times I have been served, the person has come to my door and handed me the official papers. They cannot or should not mail them or give them to anyone else but you.
Make sure that you pay to hire a good lawyer and see if the process was flawed in notifiying you.
Keep us informed. We all enjoy hearing about the misery of others on AF !!!!
j/k ... Good Luck !!!

I know that after a while they do come looking for you at your house, happend to my friend, he has this receiver, and you can listen into the police radio and he heard his case number and the police officer saying "Im going to check his house, maybe he's there" Man my friend go out of there as quick as he could. :lol2:
