Lowering my S-10

I would like to lower my truck (not slam it) a little bit. My truck is a 1994 S-10 extended cab 2wd with a 4.3 Vortec v-6. The rear of the truck sets up about 1 to 1.5 inches higher than the front. Right now I would like to lower the rear and "soften it up" a bit. I do NOT use my truck for hauling at all so I plan to remove the helper from the spring pack. There are three more leafs besides the helpers and I would like to know If I should remove one of these leafs to acheive a final ride height of 1 to 1.5 inches lower or will removing this leaf weaken the suspension too much. As stated before my truck is strickly for show (and possibly a few 1/4 mile passes) and NO HAULING.

I'd just try the helper springs first, but don't tighten everything down until you look at it on the ground.

Also try getting some air helper springs, because you will 1 day want to tow a trailer or haul something.

Also try getting some air helper springs, because you will 1 day want to tow a trailer or haul something.The simple way would be spend 25 dollars on some lowering blocks they come in 1.1/2 or 2 inch or 2.1/2 or 3 inch blocks. I have used these several times and have had good luck.But if you go over 2inches you may need to look into getting drive shaft cut but 2 inches or less i have never had to .

I removed the overload springs (that got me about .5 to .75 of an inch) and helped soften up the ride and went with 1 inch blocks to finish it off. That got me where I wanted to be. It's not slammed but looks real sporty. This should improve the hole-shot and lower my ET in the 1/4 mile. Thanks for all your help.
