gsr compression

just got my compression done cyl#1 = 140, cyl#2= 145, cyl# 3= 155, cyl# 4 = 152 my car is a 1993 integra gs-r with approx 102000 miles i noticed recently a little smoke out the exhaust around 7000 rpms or close to redline could it be worn rings the car has been dynoed at 130.5 hp and 94.5 lbs tq on a mustang dyno.

My 2001 gsr has 240/cylinder, 140 seems low, was it 140 dry or wet?. If you want best results make sure your engine is as warm as possible, make sure your at wide open throttle. For a wet test, pour two table spoons of motoroil through each spark plug hole (one at a time) and repeat the test. If your results increase, your rings are worn since the oil itself is over-sealing the oversized clearence between the ring edge from the cylinder wall, due to worn rings.

he is talking about the b17, not the b18c1.

that is low. minimum is 135. max should be around 184. variation should be 28.

though it is low, it still is drivable. i bet it drives like crap.

leakdown to isolate the problem.

consider your options after that.

swap or rebuild.

it actually drive fine i my best time at the track was 15.7 last weekend just smokes at full throttle i would like to rebuild it though i hate smoking any suggetions for a economy rebuld and it was a dry compression test

smoking on full throttle means the rings are goin on ya!

My 99 GSR has ~210 per cylinder i think it was....
