Moderator Suggestions

As some of you may or may not know, BlazerLT is no longer the moderator for the Blazer forum. At the moment, other moderators from AF will be trying to keep an eye on things to make sure everything runs smoothly. However, we would like to get a new permanent moderator appointed as soon as possible. If any of you have suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could send them my way (private message is probably the best way to get my attention).
I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you all, and please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions/comments/suggestions.
Best regards,
Mike Cervantes

I'd like to moderate this forum.
I have had 3 s-series vehicles, a blazer xtreme that I did extensive motor work to (turbocharged, stage III bottom end, supercharged at one point) and I've gone through just about everything you can drivetrain wise. I also had a GMC Syclone for quite some time, and a regular s-10 xtreme that had body mods.
I've been a member of the s-series boards for about 4 years, and recently stumbled upon AF. I have an extensive knowledge of the s-series vehicle and would love to moderate the s-series related forums (blazer, s10, jimmy, sonoma)

a Well, I sent admin and gmmerlin a pm regarding this. I think Blazee would make a pretty good moderator...I'd also be willing to throw my hand in to help out a board I care about.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I believe that, of all the members that frequent the S-series forums, you deserve the position more than anyone. You have been helping here the longest, and you know a lot about both the first gens and the second gens.

Hands down the two who have helped the most are Rlith and Blazee and I believe they should both moderate this forum and get it back on track and cleaned up a little. Thanks

i agree with them. Both Blazee and Rlith have been very helpful and seem to know very much about blazers.

I, too, think both blazee and rlith would make good moderators, not only due to their knowledge and willing to help, but they appear to be fair, level-headed and trustworthy to this community from what I see on this forum.

rlith was the first to come to mind...followed closely by blazee. I'd be happy with either one.

There is room at the top for two . I agree also . Thats why Blazers have bucket seats in the front row- So both can enjoy the ride instead sitting it out on the bench . Rob

It was my idea first! haha  I do think the two of them (Blazee and Rlith) would be perfect working as a team. This forum needs a lot of work and organizing and I am sure we can all lend a hand!

I have been away for a while. Real life has been interesting. My Boss/Associate/*friend* has had a terrible run in with a stroke. I have been taking up the slack for my entire engineering division in his absence and on top of it ALL - I had to have oral surgery recently to get 4 bad wisdom teeth out. I guess that makes me not-too-smart anymore. :D But yeah, I gotta toss my NAPA camouflage hat into the ring and give a big boost to the idea of having Blazee and Rlith at the top. It's going to take those two to keep this place flying straight. Anyone withany ideas of what happened to BlazerLT, PM me sometime? Thanks. Hurts to see the man go.

My first choice would be blazee, if we can only have one. But I too think that two moderators is even better, so I'd go with rlith as a second if we can have two.

Here are my two cents.
Being a moderator doesn't mean you have the ulitimate in knowledge. It means you can look after the shop, take control of situations, be non-baised when dealing otu justice on the board. It means you can help with issues on how to post images, you knwo the rules adhere to them, and then enforce them without predjudice and fairly.
I've moderated for years, some chatrooms and foorums I had no clue on the topic, but as a moderator everything flowed, if there was a problem it was corrected. flamers were barred, newbies greated and treated like family.
That's y two cents, and I do agree with everyone else. the Two are great.
Xpc.

Rilth and Blazee get my vote...moderators not only have to have some knowledge about what this forum is about, they have to understand and be respectful towards everyone.....

I believe that a Global Mod should be appointed to this section which has not been involved in any of the personal squablings and this will stop anyone with a vendetta or gradge from really going after people once they have moderator status.
I vote for GMMerlin or FormulaLT1 to keep an eye on things and to get an unbiased mod to help us in these forums.
This way we have a completely objective personality and not someone that has been personally involved here.

I don't think people are children here, atleast most of the people aren't from what I see. Global moderators and Admins can watch over the new moderator, if need be, and keep things in check if something should happen. Plus, if this board is setup as well as it should be (I have no reason to not believe so), any moderator's actions are recorded and can be reversed with no damage to the data itself.
I think Blazee and Rlith are good people to moderate this forum and they have my vote, which I stated earlier, I believe. They appear to be around often, try to help people, and seem to be professional with their opinion and feedback. I trust them, but that is my own opinion.
Global/Super moderators are just that, they should be a 2nd level of moderation, not primary. They have to watch enough boards. I believe this even further, because there are atleast 2 good members here who appear to have many people's vote to moderate this forum.

Things have been great here and the Global mods have been handling it.
No sense rocking the boat, just keep on paddling, but anyhoo, that is my thoughts, not starting a debate.
Thx. :)

If that isn't immature, I don't know what is.
Just keeping you informed for the right decision. ;)

I believe this qualifies as immature. The bigger man would let sleeping dogs lie and move on with their lives. Do we have to bring sour grapes to every party?

Linking to a post outside of this website suggests to start something that this forum really does not need and could be argued to be immature as well. This thread was about votes for moderators, not to work against someone's votes. I'm sure we can all find threads outside of this forum about everyone else in that manner that may not totally reflect their character or attitude. I think such posts are irrelevant and only serve to start issues that we were suppose to move on from.

No, this is intended to prove that some people vying for mod status are not as mature as you might all think.
It is relevent when that thread is talking about this forum and a potential moderator on this forum. I am not causing problems, I am allowing people to really see who they are voting for, not who is posing to be perfect here.
Just check the thread everyone, it involves everyone here and this section of AF.

Why are you hunting around to attack Blazee? I seem to believe it has something to do with past and future moderator text titles and not being able to move on and be mature about things.
Please, you stated you were turning over a new leaf. This isn't new.
You could have casted your vote and left it at that. People here were being fair and not attacking past moderation in this thread (if so, it was deleted). Why should this be allowed? This is a vote thread, not intended to get revenge or to start issues here.

This has gone far enough, anyone wanting to make a suggestion on a moderator for this section is more than welcome to PM mcervantes (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=452) ,.
I believe we pretty much decided on who is to be appointed but someone will be given this position shortly. As for BlazerLT, I am glad you think I am qualified to moderate this forum but I am already Regional moderator to 3 very busy forums and my global responsibilties leave me no time to look after another forum, so there is most definetly a need for a regional moderator in here and I personally voted for BLazee to take this position and you of all people should know we have all acted in a way unlike ourselves at one point or another, so I think even if he did (which I am not saying he did) act less than stellar at one point. That does not take away from the excellent job I think he could do based on the majority of his posting.
Now that I rambled, I am done :p
