Power Window troubles

I have a 1990 LeSabre Limited with power windows and although all the windows are slow going up and down, only one has failed me so far. The passenger side rear window is stuck down about 2 inches. I used to be able to push it up manually while pressing the power button, but that isn't working anymore. Is there a cheap fix to at least get it up or cover it without it looking horrible. Should i just use duct tape? I live in the northeast and rain is getting in, and soon there will be snow. Any help would be appreciated it as this is my daily driver.
Thank You

I also have a '90 Lesabre and am very familar with power window woes. I work on these as a self-employed mechanic all the time. Like you said the power window motors are very under powered on these cars. In '92 they went to a stronger motor/regulator set-up. The rear windows are rarely used(activated) and as you know the glass only goes down half way. The problem occurs because of this lack of use and a underpowered motor to begin with and dirt/dried grease weather conditions etc.
I would remove the panel. Try to find a shop manual or Haynes etc. to help you here. You will need to replace the motor. Cheap enough for the part but if you pay for labor it can be expensive. Take your time and find the three rivits holding in the regulator assembly. Drill them out with a 1/4" drill bit(soft aluminum heads drill out easily) But first knock out the center pin with a "drift". Once you get this regulator loose you can seperate it from the glass channel. It's very self explanatory when you get to this point. Then hold up glass and tape to top of window frame with duct tape. When you have the regulator assembly out of the door you need to drill 3-4 3/16" rivets out for the motor and replace with new. If you can get a large rivet gun re-rivit everything otherwise use bolts, lock washers, nuts. Smaller ones on the motor/reg. and larger 1/4" x20x1/2" on regulator door panels.
If I haven't scared you away so far your in business!
There really isn't any other way to repair this but remove everything and replace the motor. Sometimes you can get lucky for awhile and move(inch) the motor and glass up all the time tripping the internal thermal limiter etc. Then he just goes out. You can do this if your somewhat mechanical and take your time. Good Luck
