I have a 95 Blazer and a 01 Crew Cab. The Blazer now has 150000 on it.
I have replaced the water pump and other that that just reg. oil changes and tune ups. The 4.3 is a great motor, I have read about the anti freeze and from what I have seen air is the problem. I am still running the stuff myself. Keep an eye on your radiator cap for leaks around the edges, you will see that yellow stuff jell up on the edges if its leaking. I just change my cap because of this problem. I have my mech. keep and eye on it. If it bugs you get a power flush and put in the green stuff. I have had 5 S-10s and I would buy another. My Blazer's an 85, and with the exception of rebuilding the 2.8L motor, brakes and a new steering columb when I got it it really didn't need anything.
And it was trashed all it's life by someone that ownes a 5 mile (I'm not lying about this) driveway from hell. Steep hill and lots of sharp corners all the way.
This person doesn't even appear to know what a grease gun is, and never changes oil. (even though he ownes several pieces of road equiptment)
Any vehicle that can survive all that must be built right.
