Engine Problems (Post #1)
Hey, need some help please. I drive a '01 GT with 70000 KM, or about 35000 miles. I have a BBK coldair intake, BBK X-Pipes with cats and a MAC exhaust system. Those are the only engine/exhaust modifications.

I got rear ended, my fuel pump shutoff was activated, I reset it and the engine started but did not run without me giving it gas to keep it alive. When I got it towed to the shop one of the hoses on the Coldair intake got disconnected and as far as I knew the engine ran well after that. It was in the shop for 5 weeks, and when I picked it up that day I knew rightaway the engine did not feel right. I called FORD, they said as the battery was disconneced, the MAP sensor (or something like that) needs to relearn itself and the car should be ok in a few weeks. Its not. FORD recommended a Terra Clean - which is supposed to be better than a MOTORVAC (which I got done), and they cleaned up my mass air sensor. They have not done a electronics diagnostics. They also suggested some PCM recalabration???

So, the engine problems. The engine has no power off the line. I hit the gas, slow response then it eventually kind of takes off. AS well, when I am shifting down, say I'm in 4th, slowing down and I hit about 1100, 1200 RPM, I go to shift down to 3rd and what I usually do is tap the gas a bit to bring the RPM up, the engine chokes and does not respond. If I just rev the car, it revs freely with good response. The first time I knew something was wrong with my car is when I was cruising on the hightway at about 120k, the engine choked for a about a very long second, as if I was running out of gas, I had a full tank. AS well, when the car is cool in the morning, it runs like crap.

The engine has a new fuel filter, PCV valve, and the plugs were changed Mar/04.

Any help would be apprecaited,

Faisal
