i love the looks of a cowl hood so i've been shopping around for one and the full pin on hoods are so much cheaper than the bolt on ones....are there any real down sides to using the pin on hoods? considering they are hundreds cheaper i would guess they arent as good but i dont know....anyone have any experience or advice on this? thanks!

Hood pins (if done correctly) are much safer than the latch.

Personally, I wouldn't want those on my hood.

yea, it's really an appearance choice.

hehe, make sure you buy pins that lock too depending on your area. Otherwise you might not be driving it home. I've always been worried about that even though I don't have a pinned hood lol

personally i like the way hood pins look but only when they are on the front. is there any other way to get the back to stay on without using pins cause i wanted to get a lift off cowl hood too.

i kinda liked the hood pins too but i didnt know if they sucked if thats why the hoods are so much cheaper....i found "race weight" 2" cowl hoods for $259 new....obviously race weight hoods are gonna be lighter but what about them makes them that much cheaper too?

300 bucks sounds pretty good though for a cowl.. I dont know why'd they be cheaper. Do you have some links to the ones you've been looking at and the one you ARE looking at?
