I have a problem when I turn on the windshield wipers. Sometimes they won't turn off, but sometimes they work fine. The wiper fluid won't come out even though it is full of washer fluid. Any suggestions?

Mine used to do that a long time ago. I'd always flick the lever, like you do to put the high beams on, but not that hard, and they'd go off. It just outgrew that glitch at some point, doesn't do it anymore.

Take the little nozzles off of the wiper arms and pull them off the tubing. Blow backwards through them, see if crud comes out. If they are clear, see if you hear the pump run when you try to wash.

yes, jeff, now that I think of it, my wipers are sometimes wierd like that too. i will flick them once, you know to mist, so they only wipe once, and they wont, so I click them to on, and nothing, and up a level, and nothing, till I get to almost the highest speed, then they turn on and work completly fine. It used to only do this once in a blue moon, now its more frequently. I've never really cared about it, but was going to see what you take was on it. BTW, when I push to spray the washer fluid and to make the wipers wipe, when they are having their problem, the washerfluid sprays out, but the wipers dont wipe. It doesnt make much sense. Oh, well, I'll just live with it, maybe it will outgrow it like yours did. Any take on it?

When I mentioned it once to a dealer tech, he said something about a "park switch" or something like that, that tells the motor when the wiper arms are in the rest position.

Sounds logical, but my problem always seemed to come from the switch on the column. Seemed like it just had crappy contacts or something.

I'm waiting to see what richtazz says, seems like it's not uncommon.
