13 Inch Tires

I have a 89 Nissan Sentra with skinny tires I hate. I read somewhere that putting 175/70R13s worked well on my model car. The problem is the car is a 1989, the air conditioning is broken and there's a good chance something else will break soon as well. The car was owned by a mechanic who had a bunch of them and the tires show dry rot cracks. One of them has a bubble from air getting into the tread from sitting too long so I need to get it replaced as soon as possible. I went to a couple of used tire places but couldn't find a full set in my size.
I really don't want to put $250 worth of tires on this car, which are tires I'd feel safe with. The Dunlops I would have gotten at SamsClub got really bad reviews and it already feels like I'm going to roll the car when I come off the highway on the exit (even if I'm only going 25 MPH). My son told me that the cheaper Michelin tires tend to blow if you drive over a twig (which would be the Sears Guardian tires). Can anyone give me a list of decent tires for a 13" car (175/70/13) that won't blow at a sneeze and have more than a 35,000 warranty? I'd prefer not to pay over $200.
Thanks.

Yokohama Avid Touring are $36 each in that size at www.vulcantire.com, that comes out to $200 even shipped to your zip code, however, you would have to pay to have them mounted (about $40)

Recently bought some Kumho AS 185/70-13's for a 1980 BMW 320i; they ride and handle great. $45 each, mounted, blalnced and installed, out the door!
