I have an alpine 7876 with the ai-net for the cd changer controls. I have heard there is a possibility the interface might work with older models, and i was curious if anyone had any expirience with this before i spend time installing one to find out it does not work.
I have searched google with out any luck. Any help would be great thank you.

What year is the Head Unit. I would way that if it's not 2004 or newer then it won't work. That's when the came out with the interface I believe and I'm pretty sure it doesn't say anything about being backwards compatible. Good luck.

Go to an audio shop and see if they have an adapter for it.

Well, yeah, you can buy the adapter to convert AI-Net into RCA's but what I think he's talking about is the IPOD Interface, model # KCA-420I, which allows you to control all of the IPOD functions from you deck. If I'm wrong, let me know. Good luck.

I found out the alpine ipod interface wont work with models older than 2004. talked to a guy at bestbuy who had installed one. I was looking into the alpine cause it charges the ipod and i already have an alpine deck with the ai-net, and rca aux inputs. I used the belkin one that sends it through the FM radio, and got a lot of static.
