Geo drives me nuts help needed

Hi guys I need some advice and help this Geo Metro drives me nuts .
I got this 1.0l 93 Geo Metro 5 speed,( the 8th number fron VIN is a 6 so they say that is an XFI) from Virginia it was flooded from a hurricane.
I had to dump the TBI and entire intake and head because of the damage from salt water, same for the fuse panel and computer.
I got everything from the junkyard the head, TBI and intake were from a 94 automatic( non XFI), the computer I matched it letter by letter from another 92 Metro manual.
I ve installed everything back, with one diference the camshaft gear got messed up because I forgat to tighten the screw so I used the gear from my old head.
I ve tested all the sensors all the conections and everything is good, cleaned the EGR valve and vacum tested good, replace PCV valve, cleaned TBI, changed oil,air filter, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor .
I ve aligned the timming, the crankshaft mark to the 0 mark from the timing chain cover and the camshaft gear mark to the v mark on the head cover and the dowel pin is straight down.
Fire up the engine it started right away but after 1 min it starts to idle pretty bad, I hooked a tach and ajust the idle to be between 850-900, I shorted the pins from the diagnostic connector and adjusted the timming to +5 BTDC and still runs a litlle rough and at the back of the exaust you can hear regular small puffs like puff.,,rrr...puff...rrr..puff and I put two fingers over it and tends to suck in my finger when that puff sound comes.
I ve tested the compresions and all cylinders go to 180psi after 4-5 crank strokes so no lost compression, each cylinder maintain the 180 psi with no rapid loss.
A burned exhaust valve supposed to loose compression ............I think
The car revs and everythink but behaves like it does not have enough power.
After is warmed up if I take the spark pluge wire out from the cylinder 3 there s very slight drop in rpm, same for the cylinder 1, the only major change is when I pull the wire from the cylinder number 2.
The idle stays pretty much steady between 800-900 put still is rough.
No computer codes pop up what so ever.
Pleaseeee Help.
Can it be a burned exhaust valve or the fact that I used and XFI camshaft gear on a non XFI head?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

amazing how some remarks can come back to bite you in the @$$

"LOL hahaha sorry but I cant contain myself from the ,,plunger"part is sooo funny I didn t see anything on my Geo looking like a plunger lol only in my bathroom."

You might want to check the plunger in the back seat of your car! :nono:

If you have a burned exhaust valve, your compression test numbers would NOT be what you state them as!
It sounds like timing ... if the computer isn't throwing a code, I would check for differences between the cam gears. I know the cam for the XFI is completely different for lift and duration for a leaner less powerful engine I.E. higher mileage. I don't know about the cam gears ??? maybe CRVETTE 69 does. Or you could check the teamswift site there is a guy goes by suprf1y that knows wayyyy to much about cams and gears. :evillol:

LOL dude hahaha u got me , thats ok thanx for the input, anyways the camshaft is the one from the head I got from the junkyard the only thing different is the camshaft gear witch is from the old XFI head .

If i'm not mistaken, the XFi cam gear has a very very retarded timing on it. The software in the ECU probably can't handle it. Try advancing the ignition timing a few degrees. If that peps it up, replace the cam gear with one of Suprfly's +8deg or +10deg gears.
