Need advice on purchasing a Lightning

I am going to soon purchase a 01-02 lightning. I was curious if anyone could give me some input on what to look for and what to stay away from? I heard that on lightnings from November of 02 and older, that they can throw plugs? because there is not enough threads in the head? is that true? and what exactly does it do?

Also, how much horsepower could the stock lightning engine and drive train withstand?

I have a 2003 lightning. For all the info you need just go to svtperformance.com. I am a member there and it is full of info.
