The service engine soon light is probably no big deal.....the smallest thing can trip it. If you like to mess with your car at all, you should invest in AutoTap software so you can read the error codes yourself and see what's up. often times you can fix it yourself, or just clear the code with auto tap. Good luck

If you can't make it to the dealer for whatever reason you can always swing by any autozone or the like and they'll scan it for free....good luck

well guys thing go from bad to worse I did not win the case with the door lock system because the manager said that the driver side door lock was a courtesy and for safety so now I have to pay 75 bucks to get the door lock on the other side..... O well but on to the S.E.S light I took it to the dealer and he told me that when he called the warrenty company they did not have me on file!!!! and that they were missing paper work so right way I call the finance and guess what he says..... "you got to talk to the warrenty guy he will be here tomorrow at 8:30 pm" boy I hope they did not sell me a dud warrenty matter of fact the mech told me he was not sure if the warrenty covered it because he's guessing the proplem is with the emmissons control im hoping everything gets solved tomorrow im a first time car buyer and this experence so far has not been what I hoped for by the way I bought the truck at a power dealership they are a well know car dealer in southern california I dont know about the other states

If this is the dealer that sold you the car and the extended warrenty, go back to them with all your paperwork and look for the finanace person and start there. All the aspects of a sale goes through this person and as such he/she should know what you are and are not entitled to. Good Luck!!!

Go to the person at the dealership that did the paperwork for the financing and sold you the warrenty. That's tha kazooo you want to get it done for you. At the very least he/she can point you in the right direction. If you don't get quick satisfaction on getting your questions answered and your truck taken care of...tell them the only recourse you'll have left will be to see if the better business bereau will be able to answer your questions (if you know what I mean)!!! It's worth a shot anyway. Good Luck!!!

My service engine light is on as of now, but i had the codes read and they said it was the Evap vent valve solenoid. I have no idea what it is or what it does, and for that matter i have no idea where the damn thing is to change it. the truck runs fine, its just seeing that light everyday that annoys me. I also have an extended warranty on my truck, but they have been very good to me. I'll have to see if they cover that kind of work(emissions). I've had a new drive shaft and yoke replaced on my truck already and the warranty coughed up the 800 bucks no problem. I still got like two years and 16k miles left to go on it.

You think they will void your warranty if they see the pictures of your truck in that mud ? Soo where you from ,how much money you got :)

Nah i dont think they will void the warranty, and the truck gets a good thorough cleaning and inspection everytime I take it out. I've never had any major or minor problems come out of playing in the mud. you just got to know the limits of your truck and equipment. Its all about fun not abuse.

The reason for the SES light on your truck is because the Vent Solenoid/Valve assembly is packed with dirt!
Cleaning will not hide the fact that there is mud inside the valve (I was able to diagnose the problem by your pictures)

Lets see..SES light is on..valve full of mud....problem from playing in mud :nono:

The problem did not start after I took the truck out in the mud, well i guess technically it did. I took almost a year for that light to come on. So im assuming that you know where this vent valve solenoid is. I would most definatly like to know so i can investigate it. The truck had a full underbody cleaning after i went out in the mud. Like i said i dont take it out and abuse it. I know the limitations of my truck. Its been a while since its seen mud, just for the fact that trucks with lift and bigger tires went and tore the spots up around here making it too hard for my stock truck to go through.
