I've always heard that vw's best engine is the 1.8L engine. I have a 1998 Jetta Wolfsburg with a 2.0L engine in it. Is it possible to drop a 1.8L engine in my car? I know it would be a lot of work, but this is more like an adventure for me. I am prepared for deal with electrical, wiring harnesses, etc. Can anyone give me any sort of info on this topic? All info would be welcomed. Thanks,
Ron

you would have to replace more then just the engine/engine compnents. think tranny, alternator etc. the 1.8 cant power the vitals needed for the 2.0 to function at full capacity. stick to the 2.0 wolfsburg its beautful the way it is.
