At my altitude, I will only be making around 420 RWHP. The rear is fine as long as I don't try launching it hard.

im thinking that 430 hp is low balling it...im thinking more like 520. hell the stroke and bore, heads (are those gonna be worked too?) and cam by themselves should get u well over 450 if not right there. that cars gonna be a beast. i would love to run that car when mines is done..what better to loose to if i did....that would be so bad assed!! but even where u are at im sure that car will be in the 500 range, hell as hot and humid as it is here with all of that work people are running well over 400hp. im sure that car will be much faster than u say. i think u are trying to pull a gm under rating on us all lol

i think his altitude may hurt him more than the humidity and heat ever did us... i mean as far as i know his car w/ exhaust and lunati cam (and whatever else he had) was still running low 14's cuz of the altitude... at least i think that's what he said... correct me if i'm wrong luos lol but i think you said you were running 14's

TSP is not tuning it. Gonna see if I can't learn how to do that myself. Get a base tune and work from there.

Last time I checked my uncorrected dyno numbers were 320 RWHP and the corrected numbers were 376 RWHP. Altitude...SERIOUS lack of air kill us up here. The best I ever ran was a 14 flat here. Some parts my fault and some part the clutch's fault. Either way, it adjusted out to a 12.7-12.8 at sea level.

Hopefully that gives you guys an idea of what I lose up here.

Since I park my car on an inclined driveway, the hatch leaks when it rains, not too bad but its pretty weird when its humid in your car and you hear all those swishing sounds that arent supposed to be there.... :iceslolan

So how much would you have crank? Around 580-600hp? About the leak... my t-tops leak and i hate it. Gotta get a welding kit to weld up the little hole, caused from years of rain build up in the weatherstripping valleys.

Kinda doubt it.. because its humid as hell im guessing down there, so more water in the air, im guessing. To lay down perfect numbers.. you gotta go to Arizona or some dry hot place like that.

tampa's altitude is really low... and at night when we would street race, it would be decently cool, so its very dense/cold air... very good for engines. air being hot hurts more than air being humid... besides even humid air, the amount of water is so small it doesn't make that much of a difference... the altitude makes the most difference, the density of the air can help the most... lay down massive numbers if you go to death valley or something at night when the air isn't too hot

i have to vaccume the puddle out and clean it with some spray stuff so it dosnt smell sooo bad in there. i have used like half a bottle of silicon trying to get my t tops to stop leaking along with the section right in front of my window, i had 5 leaks and now im down to 3. damn where can i get a weather strip kit for really really CHEAP!?

It all depends on the day here. We tend to be dry, but we get pretty hot. But it really is night and day when you take a car to sea level. Even the Grand Am had a HUGE change. Ran smoother and MUCH harder.

Crank power should be roughly 560-580. I figure that with it hitting 500 RWHP and 12-13% loss to the wheels.
It should be able to run in the 12's pretty easy here. Hell, before I tore down it was trapping 105 MPH, which was good enough for deep 13's here. Just couldn't get her off the line. On average, you can knock off a second or so in the altitude change. My 105 MPH trap would have been like 113 MPH at sea level. That might give you a better idea of what I deal with. But any N/A car deals with it here, so.....

Wow that IS lazy, unless you drive with your right hand, but still.. god damn thats lazy! I know if I didnt do that i'd be the ultimate lazy since I drive with my left hand only and rest my right hand ontop of the console and usually grab the shifter.

No bottle me for. I like having the power all the time. Nothing wrong with the juice, just not my style.

If it gets charged, a bunch of things will change. Heads will have to be bigger combustion chambers, so I would upgrade to the AFR's I wanted to begin with. I would be looking for 8.5:1 compression or so without boost. Would be easy to get to with a thick head gasket and bigger CC chambers.
Time will tell. Rear-end is in the near future I think. Damn things are expensive, so it might be a while for that.

Subframe connectors, strut tower brace, and panhard bar were already done.

More needs done, including a cage. Sadly to race it under NHRA rules at sea level it will require a cage.

To me, that basicly makes it a drag car. If I stay up here, I can run it to 11.50 before it needs a cage. At this altitude, it would take a TON of more work to get it to that. It can be done, but not soon for me. That is basicly my goal.

Btw Mr. Lous, what kinda tranny do you have? I believe i remember you saying you had a T56. Is the tranny being built up aswell?

Tranny is stock for now. T56.

I am sure eventually I will need to build it up. I won't be able to really stress it out too much without a rear end, so it will be fine. I also got a tunnel brace mounted torque arm. The stock torque arm is mounted to the tranny tailshaft. More power, more stress on that. So I had the mount be tunnel braced instead. I will try to get pics when everything is here.
Torque arm and rear LCA's should be here early next week.
