Hey guys, I'm gettin a 2002 silverado 2500 hd with the 6.0. I have a set of 33x12.5x15 bfg's from my old bronco that I wanna put on this truck. I was wondering if anyone makes a 15 inch 8 lugger preferably black and if so, will they clear the calipers. I was thinkin of just a plain, hole type wheel. Any suggestions please email me or respond. thanks. Oh and if anyone can give me a heads up on the truck and if there are any big problems with them. thanks

On the HD you will have to clear the brakes..... I don't think your 15's will make it. Sorry

Cool, thanks guys for the responses. I bought the tires for my bronco last dec and they have about 5k on them so they are like near new. I was gonna get some 15" black wheels, I thought it would look good with the white exterior. I guess I'll have to sell the tires and get some in 16". Just for kicks, does anyone know the max size I can run on the truck without rubbing issues? And do I have to reporgram for the speedo or anything else? Thanks again.

ive seen 33's run with no lift and have only minor rubbing at full turn. and the speedo can only be fixed with a hypertech or similar programmer.

Check the label in the driver door frame for the origonal tire/rim size. Some of those HD's came with 17's as stock.... Those bigger brakes don't fit in 16's... My custom 18's from my '01 won't fit on my '05 with the 17" brakes...

I'm having to shave my rear calipers down about an 1/8" to fit my 15x10s. There just aren't enough slick options for 16s. :banghead:

You don't have to reprogram unless you want the speedo to be accurate. It won't be off by much.

As for the tire sizes, a 285/75 is the same diameter as a 33, but slightly narrower. They will usually fit without any modifications. If you want to make sure they fit you can crank the t bars about 4 rounds.

305/70's will fit, and are the same size as a 33.12.50/16. They will rub a little, so cranking the bars is ususally necessary. If you plan on using any rim wider than 8", the tires will sometimes rub on the inner fenderwell and the lower bumper valance at full turn. Stock Wheels should do fine.

My buddy's '01 2500HD had 285/75 and 16x10 Weld's on it and they hit BAD! We had to trim the hell out of the bumper valance and also some more inside the fender....it jsut depends on your backspacing.

Awesome, thanks guys for the quick replys. It has fairly new tires on it already but I'd like to change em to a bigger size some time down the road. I can't wait until tomorrow when I get to pick this truck up and never have to see my old money pit bronco again.

I just put a set of 285/75/16 on my '02 2500HD. I have the bar cranked to level it out. I had to trim a little of the front plastic valance in order to clear. I don't think you can go much bigger than that without a lift.

I recently changed wheels/tires on my truck, and was curious as far as what the different measurements mean. when I had everything off the truck, my new wheels/tires sat about an inch higher than my old ones. Here is a good link to explain the numbers for those of you who, like me, are clueless on tire sizes:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/info/tmpInfoTireDimensions.jsp
All I know is that little bit of difference threw my calculated MPG from over 14 MPG city to just over 11 MPG city. I am not sure exactly how much my speedo is off, but it's obvious it is. I already emailed Allen to see about corecting the PCM for it, and he said no problem.

They will fit on the factory RIM.. you will have to get a smaller and wider rim.

i have 33x12.5x15 on the wheels from the k5, the question was regarding the wheels fitting my 2001 silverado 1500 6L z7l which has 16''s on it stock, if any one knows if these 15'' wheels would fit that'd be great..... thanks for the replys guys, im new to this site and it GREAT!!!

Oops.. I meant to say they will NOT fit..LOL..

You are referring to the wheels and not the tires.. correct?
The answer is it depends. It it clears your calipers and you have the same number of lugnit holes, then maybe..

my 03 2500hd came with 245/75/16, i only changed to 265/75/16, I took it to the dealer and they reset the computer for me for free. I get along well with them , but the charged my buddy $45 for it. I think it is well worth the money.

ok well it turns out that i can put the 15'' wheels on my truck,,,,, but the now im seeing that i can possible put 10 or 12.5 tires on my factory wheels so im think i might go that route......
