Chevy High Performance has an article on this... It was on a GMPP Crate LS1 with 78mm throttle body and Hooker LT headers. They make these rings to fit any throttle body you may have, so just let them know your configuration. From the looks of it it bolts right up, no hassles, it has a bracket for the Nitrous and Fuel pump by the manifold. And the ring has two injectors, both injectors mix the fuel and nitrous together almost completely to decrease the chance of detonation and safety etc. etc. And the jet fittings are so simple to use. They have a card with a chart for 75HP 100HP or 150HP for example, with the fuel and nitrous jet ports you need to use for each one to plug into your nozzle. And the bottle that comes with has a pressure gauge right on it with a NHRA approved blow-down tube to vent the nitrous outside the vehicle. But for the numbers....their baseline was
HP/Torque 399/402@5400/4900 their
75HP was 479/535@5100/4100 their
100HP was 504/608@4500/4300 and their
150HP was 564/633@4700/4600
And as for the cost...799 bucks for LS1/LS6 Part Number F-1003-10 at www.texasnitroustechnology.com
Oh they also tested it with the Fuel Air Spark Technology's computer chip thing www.fuelairspark.com and colder Denso Iridium (IQ31) plugs and 5 gallons of high octane fuel from Rocket Brand Fuels
as for myself, I know nothing about Nitrous so I'm not going to pretend to and have a chance to hurt my engine. But if I got the kit I would probably stick with the 75 shot, maybe the 150 shot for just one run down the track for shits and giggles. But I think you can get bigger shots too, you can get a shot from 25HP up to 250HP so good luck to ya'all that can afford it ;) ;)

wow those tnt setups are priced very good... i may have to look at those instead of the other kits they have out there... when i get the cash i wanna put a 150shot on my lt1... more power :evillol:

so is the nos release button or throttle activated?
and is this a wet or dry kit.
(sry in a nos newbie)

well u can have it set to how u want it as far as it being activated... i myself have a msd window switch that tells the pc when the car is at open throttle and at what rpms to spray and when to stop...fail safe, im telling u this is the best setup i love it
camaroguy26

does that just plug into the PCM somewhere? And is it already preset for the best performance? Because I would have no idea when to spray it and for how long. Is it tuneable for custimization also?

philly explained this to me earlier... from what i understand, with the msd window switch, you arm the system with a switch, and when you hit WOT the window switch will spray the nitrous during a certain rpm range... like say 3500-6200 rpms... and it only sprays if the system is armed and you are WOT... that window switch is better than say a push button system... because with a push button you could spray too long and push the rpms too high (because rpms will go up faster than normal if you're spraying, obviously) and damage the engine... this window switch won't spray past a certain rpm no matter what, which will help you keep from damaging something... plus you probably won't want too early because of traction loss and you could hurt something at low speeds (like busting the rear-end)
drvngstorm05

and yes, it is customizable, you set the rpms that you want to spray and it won't spray at any other time

Before even considering nitrous, you may wan't to build your engine up first. There's no way an internally stock 3.4 will last long on nitrous unless it's been built to handle the added power.

my LS1 can handle it though :naughty: Just as long as I don't overuse it. They've run tests with 150 HP setup and everything has worked great until they "forgot" to let go of the button lol. I still wouldn't do that though, 75 would be my highest for fun, 100 for drags without rebuilding the engine to handle it. I doubt I'll get this stuff anyways.

STOP SAYING NOS!
NOS is new original [supplies?], or nitorus oxide systems... which is a specific company, and TNT, etc. are different. You are askign about nitrous oxide... or nitrous for short... not NOS...

hahaha... i've got a video of a guy w/ a stock block ls1 that run's a 200 shot day in and day out... no problems at all. your ls1 can handle more than you think :evillol:
as for me, philly told me the rule of thumb is 20hp for cylinder, which is 160hp, so i'm want to run a 150 shot on my lt1... i can't wait

Good to know, maybe I'll start saving for this power ring, I'd rather have a supercharger but that's 6 grand, I'll use the 5 grand to rebuild my engine and suspension/chassis then the other 1000 to get that kit :) Maybe i'll just start with the kit hehe

well if you have AIM or something i could send you that video so you can check it out yourself... the car is sick, you've probably seen it... its the camaro in the video circulating around beating a ford gt
philly rs
09-29-2005, 05:19 PM
are u talking about the video i posted in here a month ago when the gt jumps out by a fender then the ss rolls on past hime, and the second race some supra decides it will be a good idea to get in on the fun and gets smoked as well? funny thing is that guy came from rev and lives in cali now. great video right. and the rule of 20's is the best i can tell anyone. like i said u still can break something if u use it like water but if u act right and dont be spraying like a fool everytime u are at a light then u should be fine. we have lt1 cars spraying 150 shots on stock blocks. and alot of people dont like the bottle or they talk down about it, calling it cheat juice, say what u want...u spend 3-7 grand for a turbo setup or a s/c, put that on your stock engine and see what happens. u will break all kinds of shit. u have to have the engine built for those things and when its done right u get good gains..easy a 600-700hp car. for close to 5k. if u are lucky, many dont see gains like that because they just add the bolt ons with no other work. now pay 600-100 bucks on a nitrous setup ..then if u are like me another g for some built internals and u have a car with unlimited power..well as unlimited as your rearend will handle...u cant find no other mod that will give u 200hp gains everytime on the market. its the better bang for your buck

id rather ALWAYS have my power on myself, but thats personal choice
drvngstorm05
09-29-2005, 05:26 PM
ya that's the same guy... funny thing behind that story is that supra is a 1000hp supra lol, just supra's take forever to get in their power band and cars like ours jump out on them so hard that is next to impossible to catch up even with all the power that supra has...
the video i have tho is a 14min compilation of the camaro, showing a bunch of differnent races, dyno runs, pan-arounds of the car and what-not... its an awesome video... with bolt-ons that guy's ls1 lays down about 400hp, then he has a 200shot that pushes him over 600hp... awesome car, and its a stock-block ls1... i'm jealous of those freakin 6-bolt mains that you ls1 guys have... lol cheaters...

my car has more than enough power for daily driving... i don't need 600hp for day-to-day driving, but i like the idea of being able to crank it up that high if i ever think i might lose... but to each their own, i totally understand why one would want the power all the time... i just think it isn't necessary...
Rally Sport
09-29-2005, 05:29 PM
Yeah whats up with Supra's and their weird ass powerbands man? How high in the RPM do they have to be to get their full potential?
Rally Sport
09-29-2005, 05:32 PM
About Nitrous.. I like the idea, except the fact that you'd have to refill after use.. maybe im too lazy to drive over there to refill? But anyway, nitrous is cool because you dont always need that much HP and nitrous is like an on and off switch of when you need that extra HP.
drvngstorm05
09-29-2005, 05:37 PM
some supra's have really low power levels all the way until 6-7 grand... then the powerband just JUMPS straight up, near verticle... that's when they hit highest boost levels... and most of them don't make shitworth power until those high boost levels...
the other thing i love about nitrous is that it doesn't take up room underneath the hood, just some lines and solenoids... whereas turbo setups can involve huge amounts of space, fabrication and such... plus nitrous is cheaper initially, ya filling it up does suck, but high hp cost alot of money no matter which way you go lol

What's the difference between 600, 800 and 1000 hp supras?

What's the difference between 400, 500 and 600 hp supras?
usually the amount of boost and fuel that is crammed in there... to get more power out of supra's you build up the engine and just throw in more fuel and more boost
