I have a 2002 gallant.First I noticed clicking noise when I changed the setting from hot to cold or put defrost on.Now the heat only blows cold air and doesnt get hot.Has anyone had a similar problem and could it be the thermostat. The car does not overheat, could the thermostat be stuck open?

it sound like the blend door or cable or rod has come loose in your hvac box. sould see something by removing glove box and looking new center console.

Yes it could very likely be the thermostat stuck open.

same here...its a blend door problem. It looks like the entire a/c /heat contol box has to be pulled to get to it. Its sounds like its behind the center vents. I pulled radio, hot/cold, fan, etc. thats below radio and nothin wrong. Hayes has a good pix on 3-11. Ill scan and send to anyone intrested. I dont know if a pen fell down into the vent jamming the door or what. keep this thre:banghead: ad alive.

If the blend doors are the problem, turn the blend door from air to heat and leave it there. Search for the door mechanism that moves the door back and forth. That's the one that needs to be moved and left in the heater position.
