Finished this one up the other night and finally got some decent pics (Thanks Veyron).
Here it is, built OOB the only thing added that wasn't in the kit was CF decals to the headlight areas and the guitar string wire for the antenna. Sprayed with Tamiya's TS-57 Blue Violet (aka: Raybrig Blue) from the can, no clear and no clear over the decals either. Decals were quite a chore but went on decent, although not perfect. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Wow - that shine. Are you sure you didn't clear coat over the decals? Very impressive. I've often though about buying this kit - and now I must!

I don't think it's right when people take the studio photos of the real car and try to pass them off as photos of a model they've built.....
j/k :)
Outstanding model, truly one to be proud of!

Yep, what everyone else said...
:iceslolan Really incredible work, I am amazed by the shine and the absolutely spotless decal work. This model deserves to be placed in a museum or something. I cannot wait to see what's next!

Nice shine - so why didnīt you clear coat? It worked out fine, but any particular reasons for that?

Thanks everyone for the comments....
Couple reasons I didn't clear.... although I've never seen this car in real life I do know that of almost all of the race cars I have seen in real life the graphics are usually not as glossy as the paint itself, so to me, this is more realistic. Also, after all the work, I'm not willing to take the risk of the decals being dissolved by the clear. Luckily the decals in this kit had a decent gloss to them already.

That's a wee ripper! Great job.
Always loved the colour and lettering on the Raybrig livery.
Does anybody know if those light decals on the front are like that on the real car? Or is Tamiya cutting corners?

The box art on the Tamiya box has a couple pics of the real car but it's too difficult to see if they are real or not. But I had the same thought as you, I just didn't research it enough to find the answer.
