I want to replace my radio... I know the deck is in a metal sleeve that has some tabe.. I took a putty knife to the top and bottom but just cant get it out of the dash,

the dash is 100% solid and only way to get the radio out is from the front...

any ideas.... sledge hammer?

You need a pair of extractors. They slip in on each side. You push both in until you feel them "unclick." Then you should be able to pull the stereo out. A pair of extractors should come with your new stereo as well as a new sleeve. There's instructions and everything and it's, pretty much, a no brainer.

So the clips are on the side.... Now I understand. Tks for the help... The radio I am installing is from another truck. and this is why I did not see the extraction tool.

Tks again
