YES! Finally...

Quite a long time ago now, the "expert" level of Minesweeper got way too easy for me, so I created a more difficult 20x20 grid that retained the 99 mines the "expert" level has. Took maybe a month of playing at regular, excessive intervals saw that level finally beat. Of course I moved down to 19x19x99 from there, and that took several months of playing at the same intervals to beat. Once I beat that, I moved down to 18x18x99 - that was just over a year ago. I came within 5 mines of beating it several times, and twice I failed to correctly mark the very last mine.

Just now, however, I FINALLY beat it!!

I never got 100% on San Andreas, I wanted to but I just never bothered. I also got stuck in WC3 and I refuse to cheat. I kept getting pwnt by humans in this one map (I was orc).

It's a game which takes quick thinking and logic. It may not be kill kill kill, murder murder murder, but if you enjoy using your brain, its a good game.

You're right - it is a good challenge for the brain. It also tests your pattern recognition (which I believe is actually one of the components of IQ) - once you have some experience, you can blast through it quickly not necessarily by solving it all, but by recognizing the patterns of many of the mines.

17x17x99 so far is impossible for me - I've only gotten down to 72 mines remaining so far. 18x18x99 was a joke compared with this...

Good god Rally I have to hold your hand for everything.

You click on one of the squares. You'll see a number like a 1. That means 1 bomb is touching that square. So if you click on a square and it's an 8, that means 8 bombs are touching it and it's surrounded.

Once you figure out which square is a bomb you right click it and flag it.

Get it now?
