Hey There!!
I have run into a great opportunity with my company where I am going to be able to get a new car. I am looking closely at the Nissan Murano, GMC Envoy, Toyota Highlander and Toyota 4Runner.
I am wondering what pros and cons you have experienced with this car? How is the actual gas mileage? Any things I should expect to break? Just give me your opinions please, I would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks a lot!!

I would advise anyone interested in purchasing or leasing a gmc envoy to do some heavy duty research with some local mechanics and to check vehicle recall and history reports...to put it plainly, the gmc envoy is a very nicely designed vehicle which gives an outstanding ride, but is extremely prone to continuous, expensive repair costs that may not be covered under warrantee. This vehicle contains some of the poorest , low quality matierials for major components I've ever seen... If you are in any doubt, just check out repair and recall histories. Major failures of engine and drivetrain components, premature failures of steering and brake components, interior instrumentation failures, etc.

Hi,
I own a 3 year old Envoy wth 100k miles. Brakes lasted until 90k. Tires lasted until 65k miles. Other than that- no problems. The vehicle is bulletproof.
I routinely get 21-23mpg with the 275 hp inline 6. On highway trips keeping my speed below 75 I've peaked at 25mpg. In the winter with heavy 4wd use I drop to 18-19 mpg. The GMC has more HP and better fuel malage than The Nissan or 4Runner. The biog advantage is selectable 4wd. Of you selection, only the envoy has 2wd, awd, 4hi, & 4low (locking differentials). So I get better gas milage than a 4 runner because I can drive in 2wd - not stuck in awd all the time as in the Toyota. When I need to pull my boad or climb over a snowbank I shift into 4 low, which locks the differentials making all 4 wheels rotate at the same speed for max traction. I don't believe that is possible with a Highlander or Murano. Also open the rear hatch and check which can hold a sheet of plywood or sheetrock. Use a tape measure, fold down the seats and you will see which has the best usable cargo area. The Murano cargo area is very small in comparisson. I did and the Envoy had width & hight advantages. You can put 2000lbs in the envoy and it will tow 6200 lbs. Just check the stats. 17" wheels v. 15" & 16" on the Toyota.
Compare the stats. The Japs make good compactys but fall way short with trucks.
