There are other threads about this. Do some searching. It surely has been done...

there are places that specialize in tranny and those aftermarket turbo, nos, superchargers, etc. I've seen a 6sp sequential MT put into a honda. it's not the sportshift AT sequential simulator, but the real thing.

but when it comes to our cars, why bother shift when you know you can't beat a 323I off the line...or any of the other cars in our price range off the line. (unless you got one of them M3 killers like luke's turbocharged G. hehehe)

sit back, relax, pop it into D and cruise. :D car works best when you take it easy on the accelerator.

I have done it, it's a very straight forward conversion the parts will mostly fit into place. The only things I had to mod were welding the tranny mount to a different part of the frame, making a hole for the clutch cable and installing a smaller brake pedal and clutch cable.

The dealership might do it but you'll pay a lot. I did it myself with NX2000 parts and it took 3 days.

the 323i was heavier than a G20 and only 170hp compared to 145hp. a G20 vs. 323i wouldnt be as dramatically horrible as you made it seem.

also... since when was a 323i in the same price range as a G20? :p

the 323i/323ci were one of the cars I looked at before buying my car. It was completely impossible to find one at the dealer ship for under $33,000. The base was $28,000 but BMW never ships cars to the dealers that dont have multiple packages and add-ons.
