1991 Camaro RS... car wont start

Hi all,

I have a 1991 Camaro RS V6 3.1 . it has 160, 000 miles. My problem is that when i go to start car nothing happens. I have power to dash, radio interior lights but engine does nothing. No engine sounds at all.. i.e. clicking etc....(battery is good also)
I have replaced alternator, fuel injectors. Car will turn over when the starter is jumped but car will not stay running. The starter sounds strong. Tested the selinoid and tester showed no power.
After doing a bit of research ( this is a great forum ). the prob might just be Vats. My car might just think someone is trying to steal it (2 Funny)
I did go to Advance Auto and brought a igition starter switch.. but have been unable to correctly locate it by steering wheel. (guess I should buy a manual as well eh?)

I mention the word "electrical" .. my mechanic friends run like the wind :-) So any help would be highly appreciated... thanks in advance

I would go straight to the vats relay in the drivers side kick panel. 2 screws holding it in--remove the cap and hold the connector closed...if that works tie a rubber band around it and reassemble.

Would this be the same for the 305 as well or placement of the vats. I have a haynes manual but I can not find anything about it. If this don't work I will be back for more help thanks. :banghead:

I would assume so...Mines a 91 Z28 and that part was simple.

Nope... I went to dealership and tested key.. got the code /ohms (.88) reading and replaced resistor and car started right away.
