how much would a shop charge to install an intake manifold(upper and lower) on a 5.0, thanks

i want to, i know how to do it, but ive never done it before and i dont really have a whole lot of tools so im kinda afraid ill fuck my engine up or sumtin, i did my exhaust, pulleys electric fan and all that easy bolt on shit but im afraid of bigger projects

i'm probably just as or a little less capabile than you, but i can't wait to have one of my fellow dumbass buddies over so we can wade through the project together. give it a try and i think you'll have fun - take it to the shop when you do mess it up; it'll probably cost the same.

About the only tool you really need is a torque wrench. Trust me, its a straight forward job.

Intake bolts do not require a lot of torque, maybe 20ftlbs, you can't screw it up.

I've never done an intake swap either but, just make sure you have a manual or how to article from a magazine in front of you. I'm not sure, I think you have to disconnect some lines or wires, if so, just use tape and mark what they are as you go along.

You'll need a fuel rail disconnect tool as well, they are pretty cheap, maybe $5.
