FINALLY! GTP kill

man after what seems like forever i finally got a good race. So tonight since its fall, every nice night everyone and there mother is out in there cars cruising around before winter. Im on my way home from work. First car i see is a 3rd gen eclipse. Now i know i would stomp it easily, so i just ignored it. But then i saw it harrassing a Lincoln continential, so i tried to catch up to it, but the damn douche was speeding way to fast to catch up to, to bad.

So my next attempt race i pull up to a light and see an early 90s mustang cobra. Orange nice looking. Light changes, we both take of normally, kinda pacing, so i punch it. Nothing, guy doesnt follow.

But lucky for me my actions caught the attention of a 05 GTP Black with dark tints. Now i have dark tints too so seeing the other driver was impossible. He gets next to me at 45MPH i punch it and he follows. Its a cold night here in michigan and the charger just loves cold air. I took off like a rocket. That was the fastest 45-90MPH run i think ive ever done. It went so fast i barely got to enjoy the race. Next thing i know im doing 90MPH i look in my mirror and the GTPs front bumper is at my rear bumper. God i love beating on fast cars with my econobox shit car. Lol afterwards like with every car i beat thats supposed to be faster, he just hung behind me. At one point i was doing 40MPH in a 45MPH and he was still staying back. So i just made a michigan U turn and headed home.

Ohh also on my way home i saw a police chase, a police officer tried to pull someone over and they took off. I didnt see the car i was to far back, all i saw was the police car at first driving normally with its lights on, then speeding away after some tail lights. Then i saw a few other cop cars with there lights on heading in that direction.

Also today i raced a buddy of mine who has a cavalier with the same setup as mine, from 35-80MPH we were dead even. But it was pretty cool to hear the charger coming from someone elses car instead of my own. he had a 5 speed also.

Good Race man Nice kill !! But those 05 GTP's Aint that fast. Me and my freind was Smoking the S**T out it on E320 On highway he was just keep doing Flybyes after We stopping. Anyways Nice Kill !

yeah its an auto still, sorry if it looked like i said i had a 5 speed. For some reason my car is just as fast as the 5 speeds with SCers. I dont trap as high, but my ET is right there on track with them.

That's cause autos are outright unbelievable outta the hole. Nothing can beat the consistancy of an automatic car at the strip, though I find it to not be as fun as a manually operated car.

anyway nice runs, only thing that scares me is you mentioning your friend with the same setup as yours. one fast Cavi is enough, now they are multiplying? :headshake

in michigan, on divided roads, you can't make left turns onto or off of them. Instead you have to turn right and then make a U if getting on or make a U and then turn right if getting off.

Yeah if their 3000ft above sealevel or the car is sick! :lol: I'v seen GTP's run anywhere from 14.4's to 15.4's stock. Its VERY hard to launch these cars. :disappoin You run a 14.7 so your right around stock GTP times. My Regal ran a high 14.6 stock with a 2.160ft. I now have $265 worth of mods and run a 13.9 with a 2.3 60ft. :iceslolan Not bad for a 4,000lb 4 door tank. Good kill dude. I have a race lined up with a dude here in Ohio that has about the same setup as you. Hope this happens soon cuz these 50 degree nights make my car a totally different car! :evillol:

if hes has the same supercharged engine as mine, then those low temp nights make a totally different car for him too. Trust me ive been loving these cold nights.

Yeah cold nights definitely will give you more boost and less chance of knock.

The difference is night and day, lol.

not sure really, i just took a guess. The body was really nice still, it was either an 04 or 05.
