Adding an intake in a mustang V8?

Not an important question, but if you install an aftermarket air intake kit, you know the pipe and cone filter, does it increase the sound of the car under acceleration? Just wondering because I wanted to know if I could tell the difference if one went by with one. I know with the small 4 cylinders, it makes a huge difference in sound. I was just following this modified mustang gt and could hear the nice exhaust it had, but I just don't think I can make the distinction between a stock intake mustang and an aftermarket one. I would find it ironic if you guys say you can't really tell a difference in sound, because I would bet an aftermarket intake would help a lot more on a big V8 compared to a little 4 cylinder that a lot of ricers add on their cars.

Well, thanks ahead of time. No rush getting to this.

youll be able to hear it alittle bit, but not over an aftermarket exhaust.

Why would the intake make a difference at all? Maybe on a boosted car, but not a N/A.

The stock ones are usually very restrictive. Boosted or not, the car still needs air.

In the exhaust note? I do not think so.

Both my 89 & 92 5.0 Mustangs were bone stock with the air silencers still in them when I got them. When I took out the silencer I really couldn't hear any air going through, but when I put the K&N 12 inch cone filter on them, then I could hear air rushing or actually being sucked into the engine. Yes this was mostly with the hood open and sitting in the car at a stop and reving it up, but when driving the car especially with aftermarket exhaust you can't hear anything but the engine and those AWESOME FLOWMASTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you wanna hear the intake, y gotta get the intake and the throttle body spacer, yow will be able to hear a lil swooshhhhh.... at certain points during acceleration. if u get aftermarket exhust and its too loud itll be harder to hear it, but ull still notice it
