Capacitors are easy to install. Just wire them between the power cable from the battery and the power cable to the amp. The capacitor just provides a voltage buffer from the battery to the am. You will need to ground the amp and the capacitor together and then to the chassis. Make absolutely certian you use a resistor between the capacitor and the power cable when you charge it the first time. This will prevent damage to the capacitor. Finally, you should use at least a 1 farad capacitor per 1000 watts of amp power.

Capacitors can certainly ruin your day if improperly installed or if you contact both terminals with your hand or fingers at the same time. I recommend that you mount the capacitor in the location before charging it and have everything connected except the hot wire. Charge it using the resistor, hold the resistor with pliers, and then connect the hot lead to the capacitor. If you don't cross the terminals you should be just fine.
