surging

a while back i bought a generic ebay CAI for my 92 lude si, i noticed that there is some vacum line that connects to the stock intake, i wasnt sure what it was for and the car seemed to run fine. so i just left it disconnected. Lately though my car has been surging and i am wondering if it might be because of that vacum line. Today im changing the o2 sensor in case its that and getting a tighter clamp for the oil breather hose, but i just want to know if it might be that vacum line.

yeah...that hose needs to be hooked up : ) what i did is drill a small hole in the rubber o-ring that bolts the intake to the throttle body and just put the hose in it about 1/4 of an inch...put some sealant around it to make sure it wont pull out...and it works great...no more surging.

I did the same thing when i first got my prelude...it makes it easier if u pull the metal nipple off the stock intake with a pair of pliers, then just poke a small hole in the rubber coupling connecting the intake to the TB, then squeeze the metal nipple thru your hole, and connect the vacuum hose...that should do it.

well ill try hooking up the vacum line to that, i just put some electrical tape over it to see what it would do, but it didnt fix it. I was reading something about the holes at 7 and 9 on the tb and plugging them to see if the surging stops... well to find the problem.

yeah i tried just plugging the hose with a stopper...but it needs to be in the intake...it needs just a lil bit of vacuum pressure and it seems to work...
