quick release steering wheels

Ok everyone i need your guys and gals help me nd my dad have different views on this now quick release steering wheels arent just made for race cars people do have them in there regular car right? Now my dad thinks it has to be an older car it cant be one of these new ones like lets say the dodge neon sxt for example can you put a quick release in one of them? If anyone has any links going to instructions and pictures of it it would be great!!!!!!!!!
