Clicking sound when touching brakes?

I have a 02 trailblazer LS. I don't know if this is normal or not but when I have it in park and I touch the brake, I hear a click. It also does it when I push in the button on the shifter. Could someone see if they hear this sound when the brake is touched. I don't remember hearing it before. Thanks.

Im pretty sure the noise you are refering to is the selinoid unlocking the shift lever. The shifter wont move out of the park position unless the brake pedal is depressed, and then it clicks unlocking the shifter. Im pretty sure thats the noise your refering to.

Yes the click is normal..that is the BTSI solenoid.
The BTSI solenoid allows the shifter to be moved out of park when your foot is on the brake pedal

mines makes the noticable click too
barely pressing the brake engages it so you could easily shift out of park without the wheels really being restrained by the brakes

Sounds fine to me... wish mine problematic solenoid does that. Right now, I still can bear with it...but pretty soon I will have to bring it in to have it replaced.
