My car seems to chug sometimes when i accellerate at like 44 -65 mph. But lately it has done it just idling. It like shakes, I guess is the best way to describe it.. Anyone ever have this problem? How do i fix this.

Thanks

Dave

That chugging at highway speed is often due to the engine revs are too low for the task at hand.
An engine spinning at 1500-2000 rpm in overdrive gear is fine for just cruising, where power demands are low.
However, if you step on the gas, the engine will 'lug' and not run smoothly. Try shifting the transmission from overdrive (OD) into third gear (D) when you want to accelerate. The engine revs should rise enough to accelerate more smoothly.

If the car does not do this automatically, the TV (throttle valve) cable may not be adjusted properly. This component is what signals the transmission that you have stepped harder on the gas pedal. However, your car's transmission may be electronically controlled, so I am not sure of the exact adjustment.

As for shaking at idle.......start with a tune up, like new spark plugs and plug wires.
