i just got a new cd played for my car. i am kinda upset that i lost the steering controls. i heard certain aftermarket cd players actualy havea place in bck for the controls. is there any way i can hook them back up some how. also maybe someone can help me with my new system i got.

i just bougt a new 1400watt 2 channel power acoustic amp. i have 2-12" AUDIOBAHN special edition series subs. i hooked up the amp and it was working fine then. out of nowhere it went out and the red light on the amp is on and wont go off nor will the amp turn on. i checked all fuses doubled up my ground wire and tired reversing the positive negative. im not sure what could be wrong with the amp. i just got it and the subs are brand new. if anyone could call me on my cell thatd be a fast way of me getting an answer 815 403 3445. herre is the link to the amp i got

http://cardiscountstereos.com/catalog%20page.asp?Product+%23=TS14402

and here is the link to the subs that i bought

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48613&item=5795975588

if anybody sees a prob between the 2 of these lemmi know. im running a 4ga 1600 watt wiring system straight from the fuse relay center box(should it be from the battery, it still seems to work from the relay center)
like i said call me any time of the day or night with an answer on my cell 815 403 3445. my name is vince. thanks guys youve been a big help to me

There is an aftermarket adaptor that works with most aftermarket stereos that have an infrared remote control. Check out Crutchfield's web site, as they show what stereo's it won't work with. Then you can go to e-bay and find it cheaper if you wish. I would bet that the solder between the circuit board and the power coil inside the amp has come loose, causing the red error light to come on.

As far as the steering wheel controls, I would go with the PAC-SWI from pacific accesorries corporation. It is a steering wheel interface unit like the one that crutchfield has but better. I bought one for my Trans Am and will be getting one for my 96 GP as soon as I get a new stereo. With the universal unit from crutchfield you will have to mount a sensor on your console for the unit to talk to the stereo. For the PAC-SWI you won't for most Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony and Alpine stereos. you can find the PAC-SWI on EBay for around $60.
