I was going to go with tamiya paint but none of the dealers around here have tamiya primer, and don't feel like paying 15 bucks shipped offline(close to). So I thought, dupli color looks good on models, can match most production car colors, and is readily available at any car shop. So what do you guys use for primer with this. My dad said he used Testors primer on one of his models that he painted with duplicolor, but that was years ago and I want to know what you guys use sense you guys well, are pretty much addicted to car models. Does DupliColor make primer for plastics? TIA guys.

Hi, use duplicolor primer . it should be on the same shelf as the paint in most stores.
it comes in white, grey, red, and black
this is the only paint i use and never had any problems.

Just take one that can be sanded, not that clear rubbery garbage. So it has to say sandable.

If you can get Plastic cote sandable primer, I would go with that. I've never had much luck with Dupli colors primers, and I've been using them on and off for 25 years. Their paint line is great though.
Even better, if MCW (ModelCarWorld) comes to a local show, get a years worth of their primer. I pick up 2 cases a year from them now, when I see them at shows. It sand really nice, and you can even polish it. Youy can also mail order from them:
