I don't have an owner's manual. And there is a switch on the dashboard of my KIA sportage2001` marked ECO PWR on the top portion of the switch. The bottom portion is marked EC-AT. Was wondering if someone could tell me the purpose and what happens when I push it.

Thank you.

It just changes the shift point of transmission. WHen on PWR, it will keep gears up to a higher rev before shifting to next gear. On ECO (nomy), it changes gears at a lower RPM. In fact, it does not make a lot of difference, neither power, nor economy...just another button...

What about the fuel consumption?

in my own experience and I drove roughly 16,000 miles in 9 months.

in eco I got 20 MPG
in pwr I got 18 MPG.

I expected better gas milage, but I read up and found this is normal mpg.
Oh well, live and learn.
