93 Cherokee fuse box layout query

I have a 25 amp fuse to fix the power locks, but don't know where to put it

My wiring diagram does not show which fuses go in which slots and I just got the jeep, the previous owner had pulled out the blown fuse to show me and failed to mention where it should go.

Can anyone help? (Please).

I just downloaded a 97 manual, and in that it is fuse 15 - so am hoping the 93 is the same, but fuse does not seem to want to go in - don't want to force it in case this is a 'null slot' on the 93 or something. Are jeep fuses normally very tight?

My 93 is a UK RHD 93 1st registered in 94, so guess it is slightly different.

Slot 13 is already filled by a working 15 amp fuse, so I still have no idea where my 25 amp power lock fuse came from.

Have tried all the empty slots and they are all empty - just an empty hole with nothing for the fuse to engage in. So am baffled now, wish the guy who sold me the jeep had not pulled the dud fuse out and left it in the ashtray when he sold it to me - would have been so much easier.

Any other ideas?

Some times the fuse box cover has a diagram or legend on it (inside) that shows the fuse locations.

It is supposed to have a cover? (Its the one under the instrument panel, not the one under the hood/bonnet).

Thats another thing I have to add to my list of things to get.... :)

Oops, sorry. I missed your profile that says you're in the UK.

Don;t have much more for you.

Fuses may be a bit tight to remove and push back in again. There are a few on my US LHD that have small latches that keep them in.

You might try using a voltmeter or, at least, a 12v bulb to test each open fuse location for power at one side of the fuse. If you find one, try putting the fuse in and seeing if your locks work (or it blows the fuse).

If you don't have a cover and there wasn't one, often there will be some type of marking or word abreviations on the dividers between the fuses.

Saudade has the way to check for location with the volt meter down pat....

A jeep dealer will know where to put it. Sorry, thats the best advise i can give you on that issue.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Went through the fuse block with a meter and it is odd, all of the slots with fuses are live and none of the rest have any power, makes me think the loose fuse never came from one of those slots....

Will check all the current fuses again and then it is off to the local dealer as suggested.
