Hello
My tranny quit working on my way to work yesterday. I don't have any gear above 2nd and reverse doesn't work. It sounds like I exchanged my tranny for a rock crusher.
I'm looking for a low millage(under 50,000) tranny from 96 to 97 with a gear ratio of 2.84. (last 8 digits of the vin are: VH400905) If you have one (or know of one) and would like to sell it please Private Message me. I live in Minneapolis area and would be willing to drive 50 to 100 miles to pick one up or remove it. If your LeSaber just got totaled and it was signed up as an organ donor I'm sure you would want to follow it's wishes.
I would like to have this thing back on the road Monday.
Please help me if you can.

Got a tranny from a bone yard. It's now in place and waiting for me to have more time to put in all of the bolts, wires, subframe half, and the list goes on. Hopfully it's as good as the word "good" written on the case.

The car is out of the garage! Bone Yard tranny seems to be a good one!
A strange thing happened! I had the old tranny sitting outside my garage (I was thinking about taking it apart and learning what went wrong) and when I came home from work on Thrusday it was gone! Stolen! I'm assuming that someone took it for the AL......
(11/1/05)I forgot to add that in the trannys place was a large log. 1.5 ft dia. 2 ft long. I guess that they didn't have enough room in the truck for both te log and the tranny. The log had to go.

Good job, and thanks for the feedback. It is amassing what people will do for a bottle of malt liquor these days. I could understand if that happened in Texas. While living there, I had a lawnmower stolen from my front yard when I went in the house to get a glass of tea! (The motor still running)!! When I lived in Minnesota, (central) you could leave your keys in your car with the windows down, and never have a problem. Thieves are now in Minnesota, what is this world coming to?

I'm like you HotZ. I can remember growing up with the doors and windows open at night and there was never a concern that someone would break in the house. Now, in my home, it's a ritual to make sure that all the windows, doors are locked each night before retiring. And for burglars to break into your home at night and even ramble around in your bedroom while you're sleep just bockles my mind. Yeah, the world has gone to hell!

Thanks HotZ28
This wasn't a planned job. The timing couldn't be worse. We had a bad wind storm.... power out.... I'm just glad that it's back running.
