hi my name is audrey I have a 1995 Eagle Talon ESI non turbo 2.0 engine.I have a really weird problem with my transmission.1st off here's how it started.I was driving going about 45 mph and the car jerked really hard and the rpms went up to about 3500,and the car wouldn't let me go over 30 mph with going high on the rpms.I tried putting it in over drive to drop the rpms but it wouldnt work when the car was doing that.So i parked it.The next day i get in it for a test drive and it drives fine.So i drive it for two days then again it jerks and wont let me go over 30 mph.I shut the car off and once again the tranny was fine.so i took it to a tranny place and they ran a code check but there was nothing. So the next time it happened i drove 30 mph to there shop to have the test done while it was happening.the test said lower sylenoid something luckily on my car it was located on the outside of the tranny.the guy said it's the thing that makes your car shift?i don't know.{bare with me here i'm a girl and don't know cars}.So they replaced that, checked my fluid, took the pan off there were no metal shavings and they also did some other test to make sure the computer was working right, which it was.Now i got my car back today and guess what it happens again. When they went for a test drive with me they said that what is happening is its getting stuck in 2nd gear.It happens everywhere i go don't matter if it's a hill,if it's in over-drive or out of over-drive,down a hill none of that matters because it has happened on all that.when it does happen all i have to do is shut the car off and re-start it and it's fine. But lately the more i keep doing that the more often it happens. They don't know what to do and either do I.We've ran evry test we can. Also when this started happening everytime i hit my brakes and it shifts down out of second gear when i stop it makes a grinding noise and jerks me a little bit.I just replaced brake pads, rotors and lower ball joint arm.It started after all that was done.Do you think any of that would have anything to do with it? I really badly need your help.If you have any possible answers please let me know.It will be greatlly appreciated.I've already spent $400.00 on the minor repairs and dont want to keep waisting money on parts and labor I don't need. Also there was a re-call on those trannys power train if any of that might be the problem. And also what kind of sensors are on my cars tranny?Could that be the problem?PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I don't know much about trannys, but I'm guessing its a automatic? It's probably something with the computer, like what tells it to shift, and when to shift..I doubt it's anything internal. With it downshifting when you slow down, it's not the brakes, it's probably whatever tells it when to shift. BUT if it shakes and stuff when you hit the brakes, and you feel it in the pedal I'd say warped rotors but you replaced them..it might just be back pressure from the engine since it downshifted. Hope you figure it out
