I have a 95 chevy lumian and the loww coolant light was flashing while I'm driving it. Ifilled the plastic conatainer with antifreeze and the radiator is filled with antifreeze therefore it doewn't need any coolant. Wht is this light continuing to flash every now and then on my car? It flashes when I start the car up and it flashes while I'm driving it. It's not running hot. The light does not come and stay on permanentely but it does flash every now and then while the car is being driven...

Sounds like the sensor itself is either bombed or the wiring contact is intermittient. Check the sensor and the wiring to make sure.

The sensor is usually under the fill neck, on the side of the radiator. Try disconnecting it and drive around a bit, see what the light does. And try jumpering the terminals and see if the opposite happens. My guess is a bad sensor though. They get gummed up pretty bad from the sludge in the cooling system.

When's the last time you had a flush? Five years, 100,000 miles is the recommended interval.
