security system

Sometimes when I start my 2000 alero, the engine turns over, but it wont start. Right after that the red security light comes on, and I have to wait almost ten minutes before it will start, but then it does start. This is getting more, and more frequent. HELP PLEASE!!!! :banghead:

I have the precise same problem on my 2001 Alero. Check your owners manual--can't recall the page, and my book is not accessible, at this moment--but it is in the section concering the security system. It tells you to do exactly what you are doing.

Now, what to do about it, I don't yet know. Probably need to talk with a friendly--ha! ha!--Olds dealer service manager, and see if you can pick his brain. I intend to, eventually.
