hey, im new to the boards and in need of some advice. I admit im not as educated about cars as i should be but hey, no one is perfect. anyway, on last saturday, i noticed that my car was leaking antifreeze, and all of a sudden stops in the middle of the road. Boy was i pissed. Everytime I try to stat her up, it sounds as if Its wants to start by no go. Then I find out that my girl(its her car) had no oil in it(i was pissed when i found out). so no telling how long she's been with out oil. What can I do to get this fixed. I have heard so many things about what it could be, timing belt, alternator, starter, etc.... can anyone give me info on what it could be

Did you put oil back in? Does it sound like you get fire or is it just cranking dry? Where was the antifreeze leaking from? Right out the tank or somewhere under the car?
I basically had the same problem, but my freezer was not leaking, and I had plenty of oil.
Do you use that car regularily, like did it stay put in the driveway for a while? My 98 Camry hadn't been used for like 2 months when I bought it, and one of the ignition coils apparently caugh moisture and rusted. That caused the car to die at once on a street corner when the coil finally cracked open.
It would crank and get some fire, but stumbled back down and nothing. When I gave it some gas it went on for half a second more then died again. Maybe the heat from having no oil and leaking freezer made one of these things burn or something.

From leaking oil & coolant, the head gasket is blown. The cylinders are flooded with coolant hydrolocking the engine, or at least causing so much pressure that it can bearly compress it.
Toyota engine's can run with very, very little oil pressure for a short amount of time without damage, but not this time.
If you did save it, it's undoubtidly got bearing & more than likely ring damage across the board.
If you suspect a blown head gasket - low compression / white smoke out the tailpipe. You need to ditch the engine. You can buy 5s-fe's all day long cheap enough to not nessecitate changing a HG & the entire cooling system + maintinence when changing a HG. Then what happens when the low oil obviously causes bearing damage & you need new rings? Then you get into rebuilding the bottom end.
If it's anything more than a simply combination of leaks; drop a new engine in it. Don't waste money rebuilding it.

If you're that close to me, take your car to Twinbrook Auto repair. They are good/honest and charge half what Toyota will. It is on Parklawn Drive near Twinbrook Parkway. At least call them for a quote.
