I really don't know wtf happened but the damn thing stalled and started smoking when I tried to give gas to it. I took it to a transmission place and they said something's wrong with the modulator or somethin'?. Well regardless he says I need a new transmission. Do you guys know of a place on the net that sells remanufactured 1-speed CVT w/od transmissions?
Also if the 1-speed CVT isn't as great as the 4 speed Auto that comes in like DX's and EX's would it be possible to replace my CVT with one of these 4 speeds without a headache. I also might need a place I can by either completely new or remanufactured transmissions.

Check junkyards I know sometimes the shop i work at people want to be cheap so we would get used transmissions from junk yards.
The cvt transmission is a 3 speed i thought it just has electronicly controled rpm so you do not feel it shift, and it has to use specific honda cvt transmission fluid.

It is a 3 speed my bad...but it uses special CVT fluid????...so like pennzoil is a no go?...sh*t......WELL any suggestions on what engine and transmission might fit into this Civic? I'm lookin at at a V-Tec but their d*mn expensive. unless of course they make a SOHC V-tec head for just this type of engine. I don't know the model name but it's the 1.6 4 cyl with 115 - HP.

I think it would be cheaper just to buy your new transmission than another motor and transmission. besides your HX is designed for high mileage and gas mileage. I read a reveiw of one, and they averaged around 37mpg with the cvt transmission.

all the more reason to replace it I suppose. This damn thing is too slow and it has a hard time picking up. I don't neccesarily wan't to buy a new motor but if I do plan on sticking on permformance parts this transmission is gonna have to go right?

I can't go 80 without parking it and it smelling like transmission fluid. This thing sucks i'm swapping it. NEW THREAD.
