i did a search and looked on VFAQ and all i could come up with is dont use economy unless going over 50 mph hard on tranny.... Well if anyone out there could awnser whats best for gas mileage.... and then for racing.... i noticed ony my drive home today with power/ and OD off that it sounded sweet as hell and seem to accelerate faster. Then i looked at my turbo timer and it was well in the 4:xx time.. which is the highest i have ever seen it.. its about 11 mile drive home so if anyone could awnser this stupid question that would be sweet

you should always use premium gas on a turbo car.

ummm.. i didn't mean the gas... i meant the Button on the shifter that says OD/OD OFF and the other button that says economy and power

with the overdrive OFF you wont get as good of gas mileage. the O/D keeps the rpms lower which uses less gas. when "racing" you would be better with it off b/c it make the tranny shift later (higher rpms). as far as the economy and power, i dont know b/c i have a 5-speed, but i would think anything that says economy would use less gas, and anything that says power would use more lol just using common sense

all pressing the O/D off button does is prevents the transmission from shifting into 4th gear.

heres the deal

power/economy
on my nt this changed the WOT shift point from 6500 power to 5500 economy. my nt was faster in economy mode but your will probably do better shifting higher

overdrive off just keeps it from shifting into overdrive (4th gear)

So if im taking my car to the track. I'm def going to use POWER because the higher rpm. Should I put my car in overdrive before I take off? After I take off and Im doing over 40? or not use O/D at for the 1/4 mile?
