turn signals on a '00

Has anyone ever figured out why the turn signals start working intermittently? I've seen a lot of posts, but no fixes!

probably need a hazard switch. the turn signals don't have a seperate flasher anymore, they run thru the hazard switch which has an 'internal' flasher in it. the malibu's and the olds alero's had a recall on the hazard switches for this same complaint. next time they don't work, hit the hazard switch on/off, then see if the turn signals work, this sometimes brings them around again.
