Hi, I just got an 89 SI. I have seen all kinds of sick modifications to these cars, from superchargin the existing 1.6, to stuffing in a larger B series. What kind of mods have you done to your 4th gen, and what kind of times / WHP have you seen. I'm looking for ideas for my new toy!

Hello and welcome to the board hehe.
With my stock 1.6, with a AEM short ram intake, axle back exhaust, 15 inch wheels with 195 tires, wires, and a dead motor mount, I ran a 16.5 at like 81 mph i think? I had a shitty 60 foot time thanks to the motor mount. Still that blows the doors off most modded EX's and some other usual ricemobiles, and i'm pratically stock hehe.
I dunno what kinda times anyone else are pulling. I know a DOHC B16 will pull like high 14's in good trim. So will a non-vtec B18 i'm told as well (again setup right). If you wanna check out motor swaps or turbos go snoop around the Hybrid and Forced Induction forums and just start reading stuff TONS of info there, and the home page as well.
Just to show you what can be done on a STOCK motor'd Si, my friend is building up his little SOHC in his CRX Si, when its done it should spin to almost 8000 or 9000 rpm and make close to 200 Hp. Yes he's being different by building everything on the motor hehe. And if all goes right it will cost about the same or less than a B16 swap but make more HP and torque. Alll depends how much much $$$ you have and how fast you wanna go.
