Engine Swap for '99 Civic Si

Hi all,

I want to do an engine swap for my 99 civic si, and need much advice, as I'm newbie in car tuning.. and also this forum...

I hear ya'll talking about b16, b18, h22, gsr, etc. and I'm rather confused. What exactly are the full names of these engines, and their manufacturers? And what power can i expect to get just from doing an engine swap with these ones?? Prices? any help appreciated..

you better swap out that engine quickly and se;; it to me and get a "good" engine...

b16 has good potential... keep it...
for the price of a swap, you could get a nice turbo or vortech supercharger....

Ill take ure B16 if you dont want it ;)

I think you will have a long list of people to sell that engine to if thats what your gonna do. Including me of course!:D

so can someone tell me what b18 and h22 and gsr is then? As my question was earlier... full names... manufacturers... prices...?

we have this cool thing called the performance FAQ at the top. might wanna look there to get a basic understanding of stuff

and also... what's da diff between b16a and b16b???? is the one i got a or b?

I've looked there... but there are too many links there and i don't want to read through all of 'em... i don't know where to look for this info

i'm assuming that you are a US resident and you have a B16A rated at 160hp then. B16B's are Civic TypeR motors rated at 185hp.


If you are from canada, it's a different ballgame.

then you don't have a B16A, you have a D16 rated at 127hp. SiR's in Canada have B16A's.
