My voyager check engine light came on and started running rough. The signal say's number 6 missfire. I pulled the plug on number 6 and it looks almost white compare to the plug on number 4. Does this mean that it's starving for fuel? Should I change the injector? How easy is it?

Misfires can be caused by any number of items. The plug or wire could be bad along with the coil causing the problem. It doesn't necessarily mean that the injector is bad.

As for changing the injector the job is not hard the problem is getting to it that is the problem. It is located on the back side of the engine behind the plenum. You will probably need to remove the plenum to get to the injector. You must relieve the fuel pressure first, then remove the fuel rail. By pulling gently you can remove the injectors from the head. Then remove the injector from the rail. Replace in reverse order. You may want to replace the O-rings on the injectors while you have them out. Before reinserting them though coat them with a light coating of petroleum jelly. Keeps them soft and gives you a better seal.

Before doing this however change the plug wires and plugs to see if the misfire goes away.

You must relieve the fuel pressure

Believe me, you WANT to do this. I still am not sure on the process but I will deff learn before trying it again. I am not sure on how many LBs of pressure is in that line but I do know it is enough to tear wrap around sunglasses off your face and make your eyes blurry for at least an hour, oh and don't forget tripping over all the toys your kids have in the yard while you are running for the garden hose to flush your eyes out, or your dog which YOU WILL trip over while running blindly for a clean rag. This is exactly how it happened to me last week when I decided not to bleed the lines because a little bit of gas wouldn't be that bad (How wrong I was). Who was the one who made the main line going into the rail point right up on that angle to hit you square in the face?..lol. It hurts (Burns),believe me. DEPRESSURIZE IT!!!

being in the business for a few years i seldom have seen dirty injectors or faulty in jectors even though it does happen usually misfire is do to the other things as Dad pointed out can also be a vacumn leak coil pack problem even simple thing like a shot or water in your fuel?
