Hi my girlfriends father has a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am.
There is an electrical problem which cause the car to stall when the brake light switch is pressed.......and also when car is turned on the fuel gauge goes tops out(goes past full) but when you turn off the rear defogger it returns to normal. This problem has already cost him 400 dollars with no success. If ANYONE can help me out with this problem please send an email to [email protected].
I will respond in forum and through email.
Thanks a lot i hope i get some feedback from some good eletrical mechanics

I would start off by having the grounds checked as well as the battery. It sounds as if there is some type of short that is causing these problems, more then likely caused by the same problem... There may be a control module starting to go out as well.... Good luck
